Thanks for stopping by mealprepbasics a recipe blog dedicated to simple, flavorful cooking and no-fuss meal prep for real life (you know… the kind where you’re tired, hungry, and considering cereal for dinner).
I’m Hannah, the writer and founder behind mealprepbasics, where I share approachable recipes, practical kitchen tips, and little cooking wins that make you feel like you’ve got your life together even if your laundry is judging you from across the room.
I’m based in the U.S., and I’m a big fan of easy weeknight dinners, bold global flavors, and anything that turns “What’s for dinner?” into “Oh wait, this is actually good.” When I’m not testing recipes, I’m probably sipping iced coffee, reorganizing my spice drawer for the thousandth time, or pretending I enjoy doing dishes (I do not).
In early 2025, I decided to turn my love of cooking into something bigger: helping you cook with more confidence, more flavor, and a lot less stress.
I started mealprepbasics to share what I’ve learned along the way and I’m so happy you’re here. Let’s make cooking feel doable again.

About the food

I believe cooking should feel simple, joyful, and totally within reach no fancy skills required, no “where do I even buy that?” ingredients, and definitely no shame if you’re cooking in yesterday’s hoodie.

Most of the recipes you’ll find on mealprepbasics use everyday ingredients you can grab at a normal grocery store. I’m big on bold flavor without the fuss, and I love showing how easy it can be to cook from scratch with a little guidance (and a good pinch of salt at the right time). You’ll find quick weeknight dinners, meal prep staples that make the rest of your week easier, cozy soups, and the occasional sweet treat that’s worth turning the oven on for.

Many of these recipes are my own shaped by what I cook at home, flavors I’ve fallen in love with, and little kitchen experiments that actually worked. Sometimes I’ll share recipes inspired by cookbooks or other creators, and when I do, I’ll always give credit where it’s due.
Every recipe is tested, cooked, and photographed with the goal of making it clear, reliable, and genuinely enjoyable for you to recreate in your own kitchen.

Influences

Growing up in the U.S., I was surrounded by the comfort of homemade meals nothing fancy, just the kind of food that made you feel taken care of. Some of my favorite memories are tied to kitchens: the smell of something simmering, someone asking “Did you taste it?” and the little magic of everyone ending up at the table.

As I got older, I started noticing how much love lives in everyday cooking and how food can tell stories. I’ve been inspired by flavors from different places (and different people), from simple pantry meals to global dishes that make your weeknight feel a little more exciting. mealprepbasics is my way of blending comfort, curiosity, and practicality into recipes that feel doable no matter your schedule or skill level.

What I aim to share

My goal is to help you cook with more confidence and less stress. Through mealprepbasics, I share recipes that work in real life meals that taste great, fit busy days, and don’t leave you with a mountain of dishes and regret.
